New QT

Post by MitchR »

Hi all,
Managed to find myself a 300 gal QT on fleabay last month, so 2 weeks ago borrowed my mates transit and picked it up from Ramsbotham. This weekend my main job was to get it in the garage where it's main use will be growing on Tosai!! What a job, the amount of rubbish you can get in a garage is UNBELIEVABLE. Got the tank in on a 6" timber base but at 21.00 had to give up as completely knackered and you still can't see my back garden for boxes.
Still will be well worth it when finished. The plan is to heat it all year ( heavily insulated),BAGS of air maybe an autofeeder and its under a window so should be no day light issues. Got a birthday in April so hope to have it up and running by then as I've asked everyone for Fish tokens :D :D :D plus our own G&S will be residing there.
Thank God spring looks to be here
later peeps .............Mitch

Mitch,

Must have been the weekend for clearing out garages, mine didn't take anywhere near that long though. You won't regret setting up a growing on pond , fun to watch them during the winter aswell, amazing how quick they grow. Only problem is two lots of fish growing during the year and then you've got to put them in your main pond. Thats why I'm moving some on a the moment. Post soem pic's when its done.

Mitch,
Sounds good, as Ian has already said great to watch them grow, and given the right temp and food, they do grow. You will need a bigger pond!!
What's all this about clearing out garages, mine has been waiting for 12mths. Maybe this weekend LOL.
