Are you new to Koi & Ponds ?

Post by Martin R »

If you're new to Koi keeping, or just thinking of building your first Pond (Goldfish, Koi, whatever :? ) drop us a line at the North Wales Koi Society (we're a club really, Society makes us sound far to grand  ).

Either reply to this message, or send me a PM (Private Mail) if you'd rather not ask questions in the public forum.

A couple of things for you to consider:
1. There is No such thing as a daft Question.
2. We're only here to help, not make money! In fact we want to help you save money and time by getting things right first time :D
3. NWKS is a great bunch of people. Fun and Friendliness should be our moto. We are definitely not a bunch of geeks

Go on ! Get in touch ;)
Best regards
Martin (NWKS Chairman)

Hi Martin,
My husband passed away in February this year after a short illness and I am left with a pond with 15 Koi Carps. I don't know a thing about them as my husband use to care for them.
Since his death the pond seems neglected .all I do is feed them But I know there is more to it than that. They are beautiful and I am afraid that they are going to die if I don't seek advice from the experts. What do you advise me to do.

Dear Koylenna,
So sorry to hear about your loss. I can't begin to imagine the heart ache you've been thru'.

Without wanting to brush over loss, I can offer you some good news and encouragement with regard to your late HUsband's Pond and Koi Carp. As "Anubsiram" (can't remember your christian name mate  ) says, there are plenty of NWKS members willing to help and offer advice.

Here's what to do:
1. Phone either myself or Dave S Wilson to give us your address and contact details (see Contact us - on main web pages)
2. or send me a PM (Private message) by clicking the PM button next to my name, and include your phone number etc. By all means PM Dave or Anubisram too.
Please DON'T post your contact details on the open Bulletin board.

One or more of use will do our utmost to get over to you ASAP and assess your pond's situation, and then advise. I'm confident that we'll not only be able to help, but also ensure that you can continue to keep Koi safely and with minimal effort, maximum enjoyement.
Best Regards
Martin
