Moving House!

Its very probable we will be moving house in the next couple of weeks, having kept koi for 10 years or so the question was do I take them with me or do I sell? Although my fish are not show quality there are a few that are very dear to me and have been prizes etc that l know i could never replace so the decision was made to take them with me (hooray!). The plan is a follows, the new house is only 3 or so miles from the old house. Currently there is a 1/2 brick greenhouse residing in the spot careful picked for my pond so its bye bye greenhouse! My pond is a 1500 gallon water tank sunk into the ground about 18" and raised 3 ft filtered with old style vortex/brushes/fluid K1/jap mat so if l'm careful l can break it down and reassemble at the new place. The fish will be starved 4-5 days before the move and housed in the garage of the new house in a large inflatable swimming pool (with cover) while I resite the pond. I'll be recirculating the water (whilst heating) and putting pleanty of air in but no filtration. I estimate 5-7 days for the breakdown and rebuild of the pond ready for the fish to go back in (fingers crossed)! I'll try and provide a more in-depth article highlighting any issues if they arise and including some photo's upon completion, until then wish me luck and happy koi keeping. Thanks to any of the members that are helping me with this. Regards, Mitch
