What temperature is your pond?
Mine is currently 7.6degC,unheated and covered, the koi are still quite active and are still taking a bit of wheatgerm every couple of days.

Well mine's at a good 12 deg, heated and covered, fish still taking as much food as I give them. Will be dropping the temperature to 10 deg over the next week or so.
