Pond pH

Post by site admin »

Hi,
I have just checked the pond pH, and it has slipped down to just under pH 7,infact it is 6.8 on a digital ph meter.
The pond normally runs at pH 7.4 -7.6, but has been covered for the winter.
I think every one should check their pond ph frequently in the winter even if the pond is covered or not. The heavy rain that we have had lately,is more than likely to be acidic in content. It is so easy to get a pH crash, it just creeps up without you knowing.
I have now dosed the pond with kusuri Bio-balance, to get the pH back into the zone, that is normal. ;)

Dave.
