Winter grow and show

Post by squirrel »

I was thinking as some of the other forums are running a winter grow and show would anyone on here be interested in doing one?

The club is currently running a G&S competition which will be judged next summer, so I think it's a non starter from the club's point of view.

Personally I think that unless the koi entered are of a similar size and quality then a winter (Any?) G&S is a pointless excercise. It's really only going to come down to who can afford to buy a good quality koi in the first place (one that is likely to improve) and then has a heated tank / pond in which to to grow the koi on over the winter.

I meant this as purely a bit of fun and learning but as there is already one runnning then there is no point :-/

Hi Simon,

At the next meeting on Tuesday 3 November we will be having the results of the club's 2008 G&S competiton. The koi were all Kohaku of a similar quality from the 'Exclusive' breeder and supplied by Richdon Koi. Richard Jones of Richdon Koi has judged the koi for us.

It should be very interesting to see how the koi have grown and developed, I hope you can make it along to the meeting.
