Aquatics; Oxygenators. Plants suitable for vegetable filters.

Elodea Crispa, common name Canadian Pond Weed.
Ceratophyllum Demersum,common name Hornwort.
Hottonia Palustris, common name Water Violet, a member of the primrose family.
Nasturtium Officinale, common name Watercress, watercress is the oldest known leaf vegetable eaten by man. it contains iodine, iron, calcium, folic acid and vitamins A and C.
Mimulus, common name Monkey Flower or Chimp-pansy, a very useful plant in the veg filter because of its ability to extract sodium chloride and other salts from the water. Used by native N. Americans to flavour food and by early settlers as salt substitute to flavour game.
