NWKS 2017 - 2018 Grow and Show

Post by roselanekoi »

The same format as in previous years, the koi were selected in early May 2017 and grown on until September 2018. They were then photographed for judging.

The koi were supplied by Quality Nishikigoi of Warrington and they were bred by Marudo. The koi were around 25cm when we picked them and I think you'll agree when you see the photographs quite a bargain at £60 each.

We also seem to be getting better at koi keeping with only 2 of the original 11 lost. We ended up with 8 koi photographed for judging by the breeder. I'll post the results when I have them.

The photographs don't really do the koi justice as they all looked far better in the bowl when being photographed. Anyway, which would be your Grand Champion? I'll post the results after they have been judged.

Well, the results are in.

1st Koi C owned by Paul Evans
2nd Koi B owned by Mark Roberts
3rd Koi A owned by Colin Jones

A, B, C etc. was just the order the koi were photographed, the winning koi was pick number 9 out of the 11 entries, it was also one of the smallest koi proving that size doesn't always matter.

Congratulations to everyone that entered with only 2 of the 11 koi not surviving the G&S period.
