Congratulations and best of luck with your new pond, I presume you will build a block wall up from footings/base so you only really need to go down four feet for a six foot-ish deep pond, unless you are planning a ten foot deep pond that is?

Hi Paul,

Pleased to see you've made a start after all your planning, it looks like you're in solid dry ground for a good pond base,

Hi all,
Was going to dig down 4 foot but hit solid sandstone at 3ft6 so stopped there By the time i put in 6inches of concrete and a couple of inches of screed to shape it to bottom drains it will end up a little bit shallower.Hopeing to concrete the base this week weather permitting.
The 4inch solids should be here next week but running out of room until all the spoil has been removed off the front lawn
