NWKS 2014 - 2015 Grow and Show
This year we're having goshiki for our Grow and Show competition and they are being supplied by Quality Nishikigoi in Warrington. Tim Waddington has just returned from Japan where he purchased the koi pictured below from breeder Igarashi Kazuto.
The koi are due in this country in the next week or so and once they are out of quarantine we'll be selecting 20 koi for the NWKS members taking part in the G&S to pick from. You can see a few more photos plus a short video clip if you visit the Quality Nishikigoi website by following this link.

Tim has purchased a lot of good quality koi on his recent visit to Japan and it's well worth looking on his 'Japan Pages' to see what he's been buying.

Made this post a Sticky, otherwise it would disappear into the depths of the forum.

Here are the photos of the 25 goshiki we ended up with, you'll notice they are not the same koi that appeared in the previous photo. Many thanks to Quality Nishikigoi for supplying the koi.

Last but not least number 25.
Sizes ranged from 12 cm to 22 cm and there was a good variety of patterns. 14 club members are taking part in this years G&S, selecting a total of 20 koi.
I was so impressed with the quality of the remaining koi that I've decided to have one of the koi so that leaves 4 koi for future raffle prizes,

Pictures of the four remaining G&S goshiki
These koi are currently being grown on in my indoor set up and will be used as future raffle prizes or are available for sale to club members for £50

Here's a picture of the koi being raffled at the December meeting As you can see Koi 17 has changed quite a lot and is now 34 cm in length.
I think you'll agree it's improved for the better,

Hi Colin is that normal for Goshiki to change colour so dramatically like this one?
That is truly amazing; does that mean it has very unstable pigment and could change again!
