Hi Kumunryo, A while since I've done this so here goes: Square And Rectangle Ponds Length x Width x Average Depth (in feet or meters) = Volume of Pond Example: 9.8’ (3.0m) L x 9.8’ (3.0m) W x 4.9’ (1.5m) D = A pond volume of 571 cubic feet(13.5 cubic meters). =13,500 litres or 2973.5 imperial gallon...

I used a concrete collar on my liner pond. Trench was about 1' x 2' deep. It's essential that the walls are verticle, and not sloped in or out. The pond itself should be about 6' deep, so the actual excavation will depend on how high you intend makingn the raised walls. e.g. 1' walls, then only 5' e...

Paul, Congrats to you and your Missus re Baby ;) With a nipper soon to be running round the place, you should consider Child safety in your Pond design.
